You Are Wrong by Gene Burnett (©2008)

One and one is two—Sure looks like that's the truth

But if that's your point of view—You are wrong

'Cause there isn't any 'one'—And there isn't any 'two'

And 'and' and 'is'—are just idea glue

The world's a bigger mystery—Than anybody knew

It doesn't matter who you are—Or what you think is true

You are wrong

You're wrong about the first thing—You're wrong about the last

You just peel back layers—With the questions that you ask

But what you see are bits and pieces—Filtered through your past

There is no ship—There are no rocks—There is no mast

You are wrong

You're wrong about the ceiling—You're wrong about the floor

You're wrong about the windows—You distort what you explore

What doesn't fit your theory—You try to ignore

You think you know yourself and what you're looking for

But you're wrong

The world is like a lover—Or like a lover's fight

You can try to be close—Or you can try to be right

You can hold to your position—But don't hold on too tight

There is no war—There is no dark—There is no light

You are wrong

Nothing is the whole truth—And nothing ever will be

What's right in front of you—Is not what's right in front of me

I try to keep my balance—Do a few good deeds

Surf the waves—Stay on top—That seems right to me

But I'm wrong

One and one is two—It sure looks like that's the truth

But it's just a point of view—And it's wrong

'Cause one, there is no 'one'—And two there is no 'two'

And 'and' and 'is'—are just idea glue

Yeah the world's a bigger mystery—Than anybody knew

It doesn't matter who you are—Or what you think is true

You are wrong—I am wrong—They are wrong—We are wrong

You are wrong
